Another swelteringly hot evening for Rotherham Harrier's 5-mile off-road race. Three VHR members took part.
It was brutally hot, and a mile longer than in previous years, but there was lots of cake at the end!

Provisional results for the 2017 Midsummer Mad Dash are below, or are available to download in pdf format here.
The local mid-week races come thick and fast at this time of year - sandwiched between last week's Kimmy Kanter and our own Mid Summer Mad Dash next week it is the turn of Handsworth Roadhogs to host their race, the Handsworth Hobble, 5 miles of undulating off-road running.
The 2 VHR runners that took part were outnumbered by their very vocal support crew!
A number of VHR members took part in something a bit different - the Dearne Valley quadrathlon - 800m open water swim, 15km bike, 4km kayaking followed by 5km run. For many it was their first experience of open water swimming and moat had never previously kayaked!
Valley Hill entered three teams in the 10-leg, 73 mile relay race following the route of the Barnsley Boundary Walk. A total of 29 members ran, plus many more supporting at various points on the route.
A magnificent 7 VHR runners, plus support crew braved the weather and took part in our neighbouring club, Kimberworth Striders, annual Kimmy Kanter race, a very wet and muddy 4 miles.
Well done to Russ Parramore who travelled down South over the bank holiday weekend to complete the Dorchester Marathon.
